Crouch End is playing host to a gem of a free music festival this weekend. It’s Bright Fest, back for a second year, and it’s bringing some late summer light and love to the north London village of Crouch End in north London. The man behind the venture is Tom Bright, a musician himself with a range of projects going on, such as this music-packed little event.

Bright Fest packs 24 artists into two days of superb up and coming musicians (I’ve already heard inspiring new releases from two artists) – all getting a fair 20 minute slot and all I can say is music lovers and Crouch End wanderers should definitely head to The Harringay Arms pub tonight or tomorrow (or both) and to hear and support some talented new artists – plus sample a beer or two at this cozy little pub venue.

The other reason I’m a  fan of this event is because it’s in association with The Joe Strummer Foundation – the organisation is dedicated to nurturing new music talent and is one of the most respected in the industry.
