Look Up is a pop-up record and bookshop, series of interviews and live shows curated by Gilles Peterson that explores the positive connection between mental health and the arts. Gilles is raising money for Safaplace, an emerging mental health charity set-up by Stoke Newington School and Sixth Form in north London.
From 24- 30 September there will be a huge programme of talks and performances that includes Goldie, James Lavelle, Dave Haslam, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Jordan Rakei and More. Gilles Peterson has lent his incredible music expertise to collate a special selection of books, artwork and music that will be on sale at Look Up. Ranging from ‘Strange Labrynth’ by author Will Ashon, to Jordan Rakei’s latest record ‘Wallflower’, to artwork from the incredible Connor Brothers.
Gilles has also selected a stellar line up of guests who will all join him in store for interviews throughout the week, including drum and bass icon Goldie, fellow audio aficionado Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, UNKLE’s James Lavelle, Hacienda favourite Dave Haslam and more. In addition to this, intimate live performances will be taking place at The Old Church, with appearances from Jordan Rakei, Yazmin Lacey and Aaron Unknown.
