Alien prog rockers HENGE are releasing two new singles. Get Outta Ma House and New Planet are out now with long awaited album Exokosm to land on September 25th. They have also announced tour dates for 2021.
Both the singles showcase the mix of rave, rock and dance music that makes up the band’s unique interplanetary sound, known as Cosmic Dross.
HENGE have been credited with ‘reinventing space-rock for the 21st century’ and have also been handed the accolade of Best Live Act at the Independent Festival Awards.
New Planet sounds like a spaghetti western set in space, serving as a timely reminder of Ennio Morricone. Get Outta Ma House is a ‘gibberish hip-hop banger in the Dadaist style’. Its accompanying music video – also premiering today – is an explosive space adventure written in collaboration with 2000AD comics’ Tom Eglington (Judge Dredd/Outlier) and produced, directed and edited by HENGE.
Zpor, HENGE frontman, said: “Get Outta Ma House is our ode to absurdity. Much like the religious might become ecstatic through ‘speaking in tongues’ or chanting, we extraterrestrials are alive to the therapeutic power of nonsense.”
“In reality, there is no need to prostrate yourself before an unprovable god to feel this ecstasy. We merely need to be open to the hilarious joy that comes with the absurdity of consciousness. We have created New Planet to serve as a soundtrack to the search for and discovery of a new home for humanity in space.”
HENGE have to be seen live. Their shows, which blend science-fiction, psychedelia and theatre, have won them thousands of fans at gigs and festivals around the world – including an otherworldly performance at Glastonbury on Shangri-la’s Truth stage.
The band have also announced that they will embark on their biggest UK tour to date.
