Palace Winter played at Green Man 2016 – in fact they were the first act I saw on my arrival, and they proved to be one of the highlights of the festival. Emotional and dramatic, the duo’s material possessed an immediate magnetism, drawing you in with its engaging and immersive quality. Their set was in the “new improved” Far Out tent at Green Man and the duo did justice to the improved sound system, creating an immersive experience as rainclouds gathered outside.
Radio 6 music has been playing the Danish outfit’s new single Take Shelter – an achingly beautiful and haunting track with a vast landscape of melancholy underpinning their expressive harmonies.
I was delighted to hear that Palace Winter have a few live dates ahead of a new album out in May 20th called Nowadays.
Monday 19th March, Reading Purple Turtle, Reading; Tuesday 20th Sebright Arms, London; Wednesday 21st Gullivers, Manchester. Hopefully there will be some festival dates over the summer too.
