There’s a touch of magic about Bearded Theory festival that keeps me, and around 9,000 other souls, keep coming back year after year. Great lineups, fancy dress, imaginative beards and a genuinely brilliant crowd do it every time. And joining this year’s Bearded Theory lineup is none other than the magnificent Robert Plant, who will be appearing with The Sensational Space Shifters, for a set of classic hits and new material. Whew, now I think I have to go and lie down.

At the time of posting this, 65% of tickets were gone (and Bearded Theory is always a sellout) but this headliner (and, good people, there’s still another one to come!) will guarantee the festival sells out early. So get those skates on.

Also appearing are The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sleaford Mods, Idles, Jake Bugg and Fun Lovin Criminals. Magical Sounds tent is back with its usual psychedelic-infused trancey dance supremos, this year Eatstatic, Ed Tangent and Astralasia are just three appearing over the weekend.

And don’t forget to pencil in a cold/headache for Thursday afternoon so you can head over to the site for Thursday nights intro lineup with Don Letts and more.
