An ‘Art, Tea and Talks’ event (free entry) about pho­tog­ra­ph­er Shirley Bak­er is tak­ing place at Burgh House in Hamp­stead, Lon­don, on Sun­day 21st April.

James Hyman, the founder of the Cen­tre for British Pho­tog­ra­phy will be in con­ver­sa­tion with Shirley Baker’s daugh­ter Nan, dis­cussing Shirley’s life and work. Shirley is thought to have been one of the very few female street pho­tog­ra­phers when she first start­ed record­ing dai­ly life in the streets of Man­ches­ter in the late 1950’s.

There will be plen­ty of time to min­gle with fel­low art enthu­si­asts and view a wide range of Shirley’s work.

On arrival head to the Burgh House Cafe for a cup of tea or cof­fee and then head to the Music Room.
