Leave the foul weather raging outside and get all toasty indoors with a veritable feast of music. Here’s a list of some of the winter festies happening around the country, hopefully you’ll find something to float your musical boat. January Blues Festival 3 – 23 January
January Blues Festival is a month of … well, live blues… at 229, Great Portland Street in central London, W1. The Animals, Curtis Salgado, Remi Harris, Fantastic Negrito and many more set to perform over the month. Tickets are available for individual shows and for the whole month. Celtic Connections 15 Jan – 1 February
Glasgow’s annual winter festival has expanded into a multitude of genres over its 30-year history and now includes acoustic, traditional, indie, Americana, jazz, blues, orchestral, experimental and more. Fara, Gnoss, Zoe Conway, The Magic Numbers, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Lucinda Williams and Rumac are just a few names lined up for early 2026. Celtic Connections tickets here
Independent Venue Week 26 Jan – 1 Feb
Erm ok not strictly a festival but #IVW is one of the most important weeks of the music calendar, especially during these times of such uncertainty for our independent grassroots venues. Get out and support your local music palace – and partake of this annual feast of music which sees numerous venues host a whole slew of artists. The Trades in Hebden Bridge is just one taking part with Antony Szmierek over two nights; The Orielles play The Portland Arms, Cambridge, and False Indigo will be performing at Gullivers in Manchester. Music For Midwinter 29 – 31 January
Sounds St Leonards presents Weekend Music For Midwinter festival with music that spans folk, choral and acoustic. Lisa Knapp & Gerry Diver (29th Jan) at Studio 27 White Rock Theatre, Mikey Kenney & Tarek Elazhary at The Crown House St Leonards (30th Jan), and headliners The Idrîsî Ensemble at Christchurch St Leonards (31st Jan). The Winter’s End 30 Jan – 1 February
Happening for the fourth year at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in South Wales is Planet Rock presents The Winter’s End festival. And for the first time ever, there will be a Winter’s End Warm-up night on the Thursday (29th January) featuring three bands on the main stage. Orianthi, Sophie Lloyd, GUN and Tyketto, plus Tailgunner, The Damn Truth, Fury, These Wicked Rivers, Rosalie Cunningham, Chez Kane, Pyrogaric, Gin Annie, Chantel McGregor, Brave Rival, Sleazy Money, Perfect Beasts, Straight for the Sun, Blue Nation, and more. Ruination Festival 31 January
Ruination Festival returns for a third time in 2026 featuring a fantastic lineup of heavy metal. Taking place at The Underground Bradford, Duke Street, Bradford, from 1–11.45pm, this year’s lineup includes Slomatics, Witchsorrow, Nowt and Alunah. Tickets to Ruination
Indoor Festival of Folk 7 February
A day-long winter feast of music and very special guests under Cecil Sharp House in London’s historic roof, co-hosted by EFDSS and folk rock supergroup The Magpie Arc. The fourth iteration of this warming event takes place from 1pm to 10.30pm. Indoor Festival of Folk tickets
The Essex Ska & Reggae festival 21 February
The Essex Indoor SKA & REGGAE Festival comes to The Paddocks in Canvey Island with live performances from The Bob Marley Experience, The Moochers with more to be announced. Hosted by DJ Ska n Mash. From 5pm til 11pm, performance starts at 6pm. Tickets to the Ska and Reggae festival
Immersed Festival 5 March to April
Immersed festival heads back to Cardiff for an action-packed fusion of music, film, art, fashion and theatre. There’s a month-long celebration of creativity and imagination, featuring over 30 bands and artists across four themed stages. Headlining this year’s festival are acclaimed six-piece CVC, bringing their electrifying sound to Cardiff’s Tramshed on 7th March. Tickets for Immersed


Country to Country 13–15 March

raveCAVE 14 March

Brick Lane Jazz Festival 24 – 26 April
There’s a staggering number of artists taking part in this year’s three-day Brick Lane Jazz Festival – Brian Backson, Kyra, Footshooter, Alici, Bonita, Kingzoogianna and many more. Takedown Festival 3–4 April
The Portsmouth Guildhall is the place to be for this annual event. Bands taking part include The Hara, Saint Agnes, Mould, Pave, Vexed, Vower, The Wildhearts and many more. For tickets, click here
Manchester Punk Festival 3–5 April
MPF2026. Manchester Punk Festival will be taking place across Easter weekend, 3–5 April and there will be over 140 acts playing across 7 venues. Counterflows 9–12 April
Taking place in Glasgow, Counterflows Festival is back with four days of live music from some of the most interesting artists working on the fringes today. This edition will feature an international program of performances, new projects, collaborations and commissions, club nights, hang-outs, discussions and more. Counterflows festival
Supersonic Festival 25–26 April
Tickets to this event are now on a waitlist. The UK’s premier experimental music festival, Supersonic returns to Digbeth, Birmingham where the film programme, workshops and exhibitions are as paramount to the event’s atmosphere as the live performances. Desertfest 15 – 17 May
The UK’s premier independent Stoner Rock, Doom, Psych & Sludge festival that takes place in Camden at five venues, The Devonshire Arms, The Black Heart, The Roundhouse, Underworld and the Electric Ballroom. Clutch, Green Lung, Alunah , Gnome, Zig Zags, The Grey, Bismut , Instar Sling and Nomadic Reign are just a few of the artists heading for Desertfest’s stages. Tickets for Desertfest here
Highways 15 – 17 May
Highways is a festival of Americana and country music held over two days at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The two-day fest also promises after shows, late night specials, a songwriter gathering, and country for kids. Dot to Dot festival 23–34 May
