There’s a purity and simplicity to the delightful track Evergreen In Your Mind, just released as a taster from the upcoming album of the same name by Norwegian singer-songrwriter Juni Habel. The album will be released on April 10th on Basin Rock and Koke Plate. It’s a song that manages to lift you and project a promise of better times just round the corner. A song to offer comfort and warmth.

Against a fluid and gently plucked guitar, the delicate folk song emphasises Juni’s crystalline vocals. Evergreen In Your Mind finds the singer out in the woods, hiding from real life, caught in the space between the natural world and the pull of modernity. Says Juni: “It’s nostalgic. It’s about looking back and realising things will be different”.

Juni took her time to shape the album, which was produced by Norwegian producer-musician Stian Skaaden. She spent time in nature, hiking and listening to music, immersing herself in her surroundings in order to nurture creativity for the album.

The album cover for Evergreen In Your Mind is breathtaking – a striking photograph of Juni set against the mountains of Rondane, a five-hour drive each way from her home. Juni elaborates on the ‘photoshoot’. “It was awe-inspiring to drive all the way up into the high mountains, with its wide plains and intense colours. For an album with music that at times likes to hide itself, I think it fitted nicely with such an epic, grand, and powerful landscape.”
