Magnetic Skies’ vinyl album launch for their first album Empire Falling, took place at venue 229 London, based at Great Portland Street. With synth-rich anthemic tracks that radiate an emotional landscape from euphoria to darkness, the band’s tracks are enhanced by powerful synths and Simon Kent’s vocal prowess. The band opened with Fading Lights, following which they played the moody and menacing Suffocate. Simon Kent introduced the track Magnetic Skies which they wrote back in lockdown. A few new tracks were showcased too. Your Shadow and Everything’s Alright were played as encores. The album is sounding great and it’s so good to see them play live again.

Support band, London duo Palindrones, played an exciting and imaginative set of dancey electronica. They create a landscape both dreamy and industrial, with a pounding bass. There’s something magical and otherwordly about their set that adds a heightened sense of drama.
