Synthpop band Magnetic Skies launched their dramatic single Back To Life on 25th July.

Their spring release A Place on Earth was the first new track from the band since their debut album Empire Falling. Now Magnetic Skies unveil Back To Life – a powerful number that blends their signature synths, darkwave textures and euphoric beats. Sublimely anthemic, with a shot of melancholy at the heart of its emotionally charged lyrics, Back to Life feels like one of the Magnetic Skies stronger compositions.

Engaging front man Simon Kent sings: “We are made of stars / we are meteor showers / losing all control / empty out the soul.” The lyrics reflect the state of the world, an environment that is feeling increasingly disconnected, and dares to offer a lifeline…

Simon reflects on the track: “Back To Life explores the tension between our deep, universal connection and the fragmentation we face in the modern world. It’s about sensing that chaos, feeling the void, the noise, and still holding on to the hope that we can come back from the edge. It’s a call to reconnect, to bring something broken back into wholeness.

Magnetic Skies was born as a studio-based project created by lead vocalist and keys player Simon Kent and Jo Womar also on keys, driven by a shared love of 80s synth-driven post-punk.

The band have opened sold-out shows for the likes of Altered Images and Heaven 17.
