There’s a fabulous wild energy about the new Pictish Trail single Natural Successor, bringing its joyous abandonment from the rugged landscapes of the remote isle of Eigg to festival crowds this late summer and beyond. Get out there, reconnect with your soul and dance.

The stomping five minutes-long track announces itself with a steady drumbeat before launching straight into full on dance mode, no messing about. The backdrop of fuzz never lets up but drives a consistent beat, laid over with Johnny Lynch’s atmospheric and tribal vocals. This is one hell of a lovely record.

Natural Successor is available digitally now, and a 12” vinyl release is available October 22, 2021 (feat. remixes by Django Django and Makeness) and will be available to purchase on Pictish Trail’s autumn tour opening for the Djangos around the UK. Then stocked in select independent shops from October 22.

Natural Successor is available to pre-order online via Fire Records and Lost Map.
