Dark Trop­ics (Rio McGuin­ness and Ger­ard Sands) have just released a sul­try sin­gle called I Bet You Can, release date 28th April. There’s a lot going on for the duo right now too, there’s just been a Belfast head­line show plus they’re sup­port­ing Belle & Sebas­t­ian lat­er in the year on their Irish tour. 

I Bet You Can launch­es 28th April; it fea­tures a sig­na­ture dra­mat­ic per­for­mance from Rio. This feisty pop num­ber mix­es clas­sic and con­tem­po­rary and comes with just a hint of gospel hov­er­ing around its edges, ele­vat­ing the drama. 

Say Dark Trop­ics,“‘I Bet You Can’ was writ­ten in a storm and a haze. It’s a song about embrac­ing your youth and danc­ing your way through uncer­tain­ty whilst avoid­ing the per­ils of pet­ty dis­con­tent.” 

Accom­pa­ny­ing the song is a suit­ably dra­mat­ic video with a dis­tinc­tive­ly belle-époque feel, filmed in Ulster Sports Club and The Har­ri­son Cham­bers of Dis­tinc­tion Hotel in Belfast.
