Here at Gourmet Gigs we’re very fond of independent festivals. Treat them kindly – there are less than ever and this endangered species embodies the true festival spirit.
Small but mighty, Mucky Weekender is once again on course to sell out. Returning to Vicarage Farm, Winchester from 10–12th September, the independent music and arts boutique festival combines an eclectic line-up of live music and DJs with immersive experiences and a community spirit.
Keeping numbers deliberately limited, Mucky Weekender offers a truly intimate festival experience where audiences can get up close to the artists – a perfect way to round off the festival season.
Hosted by Barry Ashworth and Dub Pistols, and named after the band’s hit single ‘Mucky Weekend’, Barry is at the heart of the festival. “Every year we say we’re going to keep Mucky Weekender special, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. We keep it small enough that people can meet the artists, make new friends and feel part of something. This year’s Circus of Freaks theme is going to be absolutely bonkers, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the farm.”
This year’s line-up features Goldie Live, David Rodigan, Dub Pistols All-Stars, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Roni Size, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, The Sabres of Paradise, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Pop Will Eat Itself, Children of Zeus, Norman Jay, Darren Emerson, Don Letts, Greg Wilson, Utah Saints, Mr Scruff, The Cuban Brothers, Woody Cook and many many more.
Festival-goers can explore a collection of unique venues across the site, including the upgraded Ashworth’s Madhouse main stage, Johny’s Rockstar Bar, the woodland hideaway UFO – The SS Seanie, the Crazy Diamond Club, and the brand-new Fire Garden. Following its successful debut last year, the Riot Truck also returns.
