With a strong nar­ra­tive and sat­u­rat­ed colours, up comes the new egg-themed video by Wet Leg for the song Poke­mon. The video was direct­ed by Elliott Arndt of Faux Real – a fre­quent tour sup­port for Wet Leg. It’s a sto­ry about a girl (played by Alice Longyu Gao) in an unusu­al rela­tion­ship with a giant egg, a fit­ting entry into the sur­re­al Wet Leg archive. Wait for it to hatch…

The track is from Wet Leg’s lat­est album mois­tur­iz­er, their ball­sy, con­fi­dent sec­ond release with less of the whim­si­cal­i­ty and more of an edge. Out-there, anthemic tracks abound from first track CPR, tai­lor-made for their live shows. Yet under the album’s brash exte­ri­or lie tales that reveal a mael­strom of emo­tion.
