Out now is Fat Dog’s new single Go F*** Urself, on Domino Records. The song is unveiled just in time for festival season, joining the rest of the Fat Dog canon of party bangers. There’s a bouncy 80s pop thread running through it with propulsive beats while vocalist Joe Love intones the sombre vocals: “Some jokers play the same old game / No one to annoy / Find a mirror and the person to blame.” It’s an ode to escapism when the thing you are trying to escape is yourself.
Fat Dog are about to head out on an extensive tour in the UK and Europe, dates below. Joe Love is a magnetic front man who puts a lot of energy into his performance – he’s not shy about jumping off the stage and mingling with fans either. Next week they’ll be playing at Bearded Theory festival (below); the band played a curtailed show last year due to an audience member being taken ill, so this will be a welcome return appearance.
