Dutch artist Goldkimono (Martijn ‘Tienus’ Konijnenburg) has just released a compelling new single called Lifetime via Camp Kimono Records.
The overall feel of Lifetime is deceptive. Goldkimono presents us with an uplifting track infused with a pleasingly chunky rhythm and sunny riffs but there’s a brooding layer of more serious thoughts going on behind the scenes.
Says Konijnenburg: ”Lifetime” reflects on the chaos and disconnection in the modern world, from global tensions to personal struggles. The song touches on themes of spiritual awareness, unity, and the quest for inner peace in a world full of digital distractions.”
The song is accompanied by an innovative video from visual director Cal Bain, below.
They recorded the song live at Martin Garrix’ STMPD studio and the sound you can hear alongside the percussion is a barstool that their drummer started to play around with.
The new single is taken from his upcoming album, to be released later this year and co-produced by Martijn and Tim Bran (London Grammar, Birdy).
